Stephanie LaGrua Professor Nichols Art and Human Needs Final Exam 13 December 2013 Part One: Shelter The Villa Rotonda is a house built by Andrea Palladio from 1566 to 1571. The Villa Rotonda is located on top of a low hill in Vincenza, Italy. Built during the Renaissance era, this 16th Century Italian house has showed influence to many other architects throughout the world. The Villa Rotonda is the most urbanized structure Andrea Palladio has constructed. The floor plan was a square floor plan roofed by a dome. The structure has four entrances with each having steps leading up to a columned portico, porch like area. It has been said that the columned porticos give the building a Roman Temple look. The Villa Rotonda only has livable rooms on the first floor while the second floor is strictly state rooms. Andrea Palladio designed the Villa Rotonda with mathematical precision and symmetrical proportions. Fertility/Sexuality The Venus of Willendorf, or also called, The Woman of Willendorf, is a statue of a female that is 10.8 cm high. Johann Veran had found the statue is 1908 in a village called Willendorf in lower Austria close to the city of Krems. Which is how it has gotten its name. The statue is now held in the Naturhistorishes Museum located in Vienna, Austria. The figurine was carved between 28,000 BCE and 25,000 BCE. This time period was the Paleolithic Period, also more commonly known as the â€Å"Old Stone Age.† The statue is made of a type of limestone that is not known to be produced in the surrounding area it was found in, along with a reddish tint of red ochre. The figurine does not have a way to stand on its own due to the fact it does not have feet. The statue also does not have a face but does have what it seems to b... ...ch her face. She looks off into the distance not knowing what is going to happen and despair in her eyes. The wrinkles and creases on her face show worry and sadness. There are two children almost hiding behind her as she slouches forward cradling a baby that seems sound asleep. Her shirt is unbuttoned, her clothes along with the children’s clothes are dirty and worn out. The Migrant Mother communicates emotions of fear, uncertainty, pain and depression that many American families felt during this period. The photograph portrays what life was like for America’s families suffering during this depression. The fact that this in an actual photograph and not a painting makes it more compelling and relatable because it is a realistic view of a human being in pain. A painting would just be a replica therefore the affect it would have on people would not be as significant.

List five types of system information that can be obtained from the Windows Task Manager? How can you use this information to confirm the presence of malware on a system? (Hint: Look at the bandwidth and CPU utilization.) Services, Performance, applications, processes, networking, users. You can use it to see if there are any unidentified processes being run in the back ground without your knowledge. Windows Task Manager and Windows Computer Manager both provide information about system services. Compare and contrast the types of information (about system services) that can be obtained from these tools. Task manager shows what programs are running currently along with any active back ground software. While computer management shows us ALL of the soft and hard ware that is operational on the computer at any given time active or not. ï‚ · Explain how you could use one or more of the Windows log files to investigate a potential malware infection on a system. What types of information are available to you in your chosen log file? You can use the log files to ID malware form the incidence logs. They should tell you when something was downloaded or uploaded to the computer. If you know some minor details about what it is you are looking for then you should be able to ID the malware file that was put on the computer. Should you filter log files during an investigation into a security incident? Why or why not? No you shouldn’t filter anything unless you are sure you know what you are looking for. There is no telling what might me important when you are searching for a virus. ï‚ · Should remote desktop services be enabled on employee workstations for use by IT Help Desk personnel? Why or why not? Yes they should this will allow the IT staff to be able to interface with a potential threat when dealing with malware. It must however be used responsibly when dealing with Remote access. How does Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer (MBSA) differ from Windows Update? Why are Shares a source of system vulnerabilities? MBSA is easer to use and helps IT professionals  determine their security state in accordance with Microsoft security recommendations and offers specific remediation guidance. Windows update focuses mostly un driver updates. Shares are a sources of system vulnerability because infected material can be easily passed on through them. Shares are not suggested in a business setting unless the information put in them is guaranteed clean.

Moroccan Culture Series Meeting and Greeting

In Arabic-speaking countries, there is a great importance placed on extended greetings, both in written communication and in face-to-face interaction. Morocco is certainly no exception as far as face-to-face greetings are concerned. Pleasantries When Moroccans see someone they know, it is impolite to just say hi and keep walking. At the very least they have to stop in order to shake hands and ask  Ãƒâ€¡a va  ?  and/or  La bas?  Always with friends and sometimes with acquaintances (shopkeepers, etc.), Moroccans will phrase this question several different ways, often in both French and Arabic, and then ask about the other persons family, children, and health. This exchange of pleasantries tends to be continuous - the questions are strung together without really waiting for a response to any of them - and automatic. No real thought is put into the questions or answers and both parties are usually talking at the same time. The exchange can last up to 30 or 40 seconds and ends when one or both parties says  Allah hum dililay  orbaraqalowfik  (sorry for my crude transcriptions of the Arabic). Hand-shaking Moroccans are very fond of shaking hands every time they see someone they know or meet someone new. When Moroccans go into work in the morning, they are expected to shake each of their colleagues hands. We recently learned that some Moroccans feel that this can be excessive. A Moroccan student of my husbands, who works in a bank, related the following story: A colleague was transferred to a different department on another floor of the bank. When he came into work, however, he felt obliged to go upstairs to his old department and shake hands with each of his former colleagues before going to his new department, shaking the hands of his new colleagues, and only then starting to work, every day. We have befriended a number of shopkeepers who shake our hands upon both arrival and departure, even if we are only in the shop for a few minutes. If a Moroccan has full or dirty hands, the other person will grasp his/her wrist instead of the hand. After shaking hands, touching the right hand to the heart is a sign of respect. This is not limited to ones elders; it is common to see adults touching their hearts after shaking hands with a child. In addition, a person at a distance will usually make eye contact and touch his hand to his heart.   Kissing and Hugging Bises à   la franà §aise  or hugs are commonly exchanged between same-sex friends. This happens in all venues: at home, on the street, in restaurants, and in business meetings. Same-sex friends usually walk around holding hands, but couples, even married couples, rarely touch in public. Male/female contact in public is strictly limited to hand-shaking.
